TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (2014)

INTRODUCTION

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles directed by Jonathan Liebesman was a fantastic movie that I have watched this month. Whilst watching this newly released movie, it helped me reminisce of my past child hood memories. This movie is perfect for adults to flash back to their child hood memories like I did as well as help the new age children become a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I mean honestly, who doesn't love mutated turtles who have ninja powers?

PLOT
New York City is consumed with darkness from the evil Foot Clan which is run by the infamous being called the "Shredder" (Tohoru Masamune). The foot clan has seized control of everything in New York City from the police to the politic parties. April O'neil (Megan Fox) who is reporting on suspicious activities by the foot clan encounters four brothers who have risen from the sewers to save the city known as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Donatello (Jeremy Howard), Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher), Leonardo (Pete Ploszek) must work with April and their master "splinter" (Danny woodburn) to save the city from the Foot Clan and intercept Shredder's diabolical plans to destroy New York City.

From experiencing this movie I rate it 7/10.

The maze runner

The Maze Runner is a 2014 American science fiction action thriller film directed by Wes Ball, based on James Dashner's 2009 book of the same name.
This film was released on 18 September 2014 in Australia.

Synopsis

When Thomas wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover … Morehis true purpose and a way to escape.

Caroline's view

Maze runner, an exciting movie but brings out an important message to the audience. This movie is about a group of people being sent to a ‘village’, where is actually the middle part of a maze. Those people, however, don’t know the reason why they are sent into this place, only knowing that each month there will be some supplies sent from an elevator. One day Thomas, a guy who doesn’t remember his name like the others at first, has been sent to the ‘village’ as well. With his arrival, everything changes. He becomes a ‘runner’, a name for an evaluation team investigate the maze, and tries to get out from the maze. With lots of difficulties he and some of people in ‘village’ escape from the maze, but what welcome them is a calamity. The city becomes a desert due to the environmental problem. It makes us think about what we have been doing and what effect has been brought.
This movie is exciting because the maze doesn’t stay consistent, it changes every night and will only open til sunset. Not only trap in the maze, there are some monsters staying in the maze and kill the people who are still in the maze. Audience will definitely get excited at the first Thomas get into the maze but still stay alive, as there was no one who can stay overnight but still keep their live safe. It is also the reason why he becomes a ‘runner’, and this is the reason I strongly recommend you to watch this movie.

Into the storm

Into the storm is a 2014 American disaster film directed by Steven Quale.Richard Armitage and Sarah Wayne Callies, who played the lead roles in the film.
This film was released on 4 September 2014 in Australia.

Synopsis

In the span of a single day, the town of Silverton is ravaged by an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes. The entire town is at the mercy of the erratic and deadly cyclones, even as storm trackers predict the worst is yet to come. Most people seek shelter, while others run towards the vortex, testing how far a storm chaser will go for that once-in-a-lifetime shot.

Caroline’s view

The budget of this film is 50 million dollars. In the Hollywood, it's a low-cost film. However, the tornado scenes were pretty cool. The effects wrere impressive and the destruction on display was well done. All disaster movies make people think we are so weak when we confront with nature. No doubt 'into the storm' is included. Some scenes in this film are very touched, like dad never ever give up any chance to rescue his son, even if the tornados are coming. However, the first 30 minutes of this movie is very boring, although it is try to introduce you to characters and background. All in all, if you need to watch movie to color your life, don't pick up this movie.

The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is my favourite movie in the series of The Lord of the rings. This epic fantasy movie was directed by Peter Jackson. The story was based on the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings. The two towers is preceded by The Fellowship of the Ring and concludes with The Return of the King.
The film is interpreted into three story lines. Frodo and Sam continue their journey towards Mordor to destroy the One Ring and meets Gollum who was the ring's owner. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli come to the war-torn nation of Rohan and are reunited with the resurrected Gandalf, before fighting at the Battle of Helm's Deep. Merry and Pippin escape and meet treebeard the Ent and help to attack Isengard. In the scene of the treebeard, I had the fantastic experience of Pippin escaping whilst riding the treebeard to attack Isengard. I was totally captured by the treebeard because of the same spirit of fighting the evil. The technology of the film was perfect and I really enjoyed each scene of the treebeard.

I watched this movie and enjoyed it.  I rate it 7/10.

A Beautiful Mind

Synopsis

John Nash was a Mathematics student who went through ups and downs from his time as a Mathematics student. Studying in the graduate school at Princeton in the late 1940's, he won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1994. Nash is a talented yet somewhat arrogant and an antisocial man and Nash prefers to spend time within his thoughts. Nash's thoughts consist of seeing and connecting mathematical formulas with everyday occurrences, than with people. 

However Nash connects with two people. the two people he connects with were Charles who is his room mate at School, and also Alicia Larde who is his student he  taught at M.I.T in the early 1950's. They eventually marry. As time flows by, Nash continuosly imprisons himself in his thoughts more which starts to cause major problems in his life. Alicia however stands by Nash to his retrieval of the Nobel Prize. Nash learns that his graduate school colleagues, where he had a distant relationship with are closer friends than he imagined. Nash realises later in life that he misses Charles' company more than anything even though spending time with Charles is not in his or anyone's best interest.

In watching this movie, I would rate this movie 8/10! It was very interesting and I would recommend those who haven't watched it yet to watch it

Guardians of the Galaxy

INTRODUCTION

In my opinion Guardian of the Galaxy was one of few phenomenal movies that I watched this year. The movie uses funny dialogue and fantastic cinematic action scenes to deliver both Sci-fi comedy and Sci-fi action to the viewer. When I watched the movie, I couldn't stop being drawn into every minute of the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy was directed by James Gunn and the cast consists of Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Chris Pratt (Peter Quill), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Lee Pace (Ronan) and many more actors and actresses.

PLOT


Whilst Peter Quill explores the outskirts of outer space he discovers an ancient temple. In this temple he finds an ancient mysterious orb, he decides to sell this orb to a merchant to gain money. However Quill never knew that this orb contains mass dark power. Quill instantly becomes a target to a villain called Ronan the accuser. Quill meets different people and "organisms" where he befriends them to form a team known as "Guardian of the Galaxy" to save the galaxy from grave danger.

RATINGGuardians of the Galaxy was a phenomenal movie. Experiencing this movie first hand, I rate this movie 9/10. Feel free to watch the official trailer
